A Celebration of our past

Monday sees a whole range of activities as detailed below. Stay for the whole day or dip in and out as you want 

Monday 2nd July

10.30am

Ullapool pipe band play to start the celebrations 

11am

John Mackenzie opens proceedings with some background on the ACT and the 25th anniversary

Alistair McIntosh will make a keynote speech

12.30pm

The activities in the Marquee will start.

Broch activities including wattle making, pottery and iron age food and drink

Geological exhibition and guided walks

Photographic exhibition by Ann Chown (this will run all week)

3.30-5pm

Along the seashore: Forget Blue Planet2, the coastline of Assynt teems with some of the most exotic, weird and exciting wildlife you will see anywhere. Join the Ranger to hunt along the shoreline and explore the best rock pools at Stoer. Come prepared  - the rocks can be slippery.  Booking essential. Meet at the marquee at Stoer Beach. Children £3.50.

7-9pm

Join us on this beautiful coastal walk at Stoer bay to look for wildlife including otters and porpoises and search for signs of an ancient meteorite and early life on earth. Meet at the marquee at Stoer Beach. Adults £9.00, conc. £5.00, family £24.00.

6pm The Fèis Fun Run is an 3km (approx) fun run for all those energetic kids. Commemorative medal and prizes for winning boys and girls
7pm

Peat Road Challenge - a 10km (approx) run through amazing scenery. Take it seriously or just jog/walk round this wonderful route. Commemorative medal and goodie bag for all. Plus prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd Man and Woman
